CrossFit is a branded fitness regimen created by Greg Glassman and is a registered trademark of CrossFit, Inc. which was founded by Greg Glassman and Lauren Jenai in 2000. Promoted as both a physical exercise philosophy and also as a competitive fitness sport, CrossFit workouts incorporate elements from high-intensity interval training, Olympic weightlifting, plyometrics, powerlifting, gymnastics, girevoy sport, calisthenics, strongman, and other exercises. It is practiced by members of over 13,000 affiliated gyms, roughly half of which are located in the United States, and by individuals who complete daily workouts (otherwise known as “WODs” or “workouts of the day”).

ORET: How long have you been in business?
CFMF: “Crossfit Misfits is the longest running, family owned and operated Crossfit facility in Waco. We have been in business since August 2011.”
ORET: Why did you choose this location/property?
CFMF: “Crossfit Misfits is currently located at 9205 Oak Creek Woodway, Tx 76712. Mike and I, chose this location due to its high traffic, signage visibility from Hewitt drive which captures an audience of approximately 100,000 people per day, and Hewitt HEB is located directly across the street. Our building is perfectly hidden behind other businesses to give us the benefit of privacy as well.”
ORET: What are your hours of operation?
CFMF: “Crossfit Misfits is open from 5:15 am until 7:30 pm during the weekdays, from 8 am to 10 am on Saturday, and from 1 pm to 4 pm on Sunday’s.”
