Street Dog Cafe is a new local coffee shop in Waco, but with a unique mission. It combines the love of coffee, pastries, and dogs- offering delicious menu items while helping adoptable dogs find forever homes.
You can find this inviting cafe on the recently redone Elm Avenue. In the heart of East Waco, this transformation promises the growth of this up and coming area. Street Dog Cafe is located in the same building where the local favorite Lula Jane’s once was. A beloved bakery, Lula Jane’s closed its doors in late 2021 after nine years of operation. Street Dog Cafe features a similar menu, sure to please those who were loyal fans of Lula Jane’s.
Owned by the same couple that started the successful Revival Eastside Eatery down the road, Street Dog Cafe was inspired by their first dog, “Bella.” Bella loved all people, dogs and food- and the couple plans to continue her legacy by creating a space that welcomes both two and four legged friends.
The cafe offers scratch baked goods and a full service espresso bar featuring Merit coffee. Cafe items are baked fresh daily and include favorites such as parmesan herb biscuits, baked oatmeal, breakfast pizza and peanut butter pie.
Guests will find a welcoming ambiance and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Dogs are welcome, and encouraged, to accompany their owners on the outside patio.
Street Dog Cafe’s Mission
How does this new spot combine quality food with a love of man’s best friend? They bring awareness to the need for foster placements and pet adoption. Each week, the cafe partners with a local agency to sponsor an adoptable dog. Dogs are posted on the cafe’s social media, with several successful adoptions already since the cafe opened.
Next time you’re hungry for quality coffee and fresh cafe items, stop by Street Dog Cafe to invest in the future of Waco and the lives of our furry friends!
